Sunscreen Amount Calculator
Estimate a practical amount of sunscreen for the area you want to cover, using familiar units such as teaspoons, milliliters and shot-glass guidance.
This calculator is a planning prompt, not a precision body-surface measurement. For more context, read how much sunscreen to apply.
Methodology
SPF testing assumes a standardized application amount. In everyday use, people often apply less or miss areas, so this calculator keeps the focus on generous, even coverage instead of trying to calculate a personal “real SPF.”
Whole-body guidance uses the common average-adult reference of about 1 fluid ounce, or roughly a shot glass. Partial-area estimates are practical approximations based on teaspoon-style public-health guidance and the site’s existing sunscreen amount guide.
Body size, clothing, product texture and how much skin is actually exposed can change the amount needed.
